Terms of Service
These terms apply when you book and receive in-home tech help from us. They're between you and JGlacier LLC, operating as Porchlight Tech. We've kept them short and in plain English.
Booking and scheduling
When you book a visit, you agree to give accurate contact and address details. We'll confirm your appointment and reach out if anything needs clarifying. Please make sure someone 18 or older is present during the visit.
Pricing and payment
We quote the full price before any work begins. Most visits are a single flat price; if a job needs more time, we'll quote a flat price for the additional work and get your okay before continuing. We accept card, check, or cash. Card payments are processed securely by Square. Any replacement parts or hardware are separate and always discussed with you first.
Our guarantee
Solved, or it's free. If we don't solve your problem, you don't pay for the visit. If the same problem comes back within 14 days, we'll come back and fix it free. Parts and hardware, if needed, are separate and discussed first.
Membership
Membership is month-to-month and renews automatically each month. We charge the monthly membership fee to your card on file through Square until you cancel. You can cancel anytime by phone, text, or email, with no fee; cancellation stops future charges. We don't prorate or refund the current month unless we've agreed otherwise. Founding members keep their founding rate for as long as the membership stays active. Member visit pricing is applied as a discount at the time of service, on standard visits and longer flat-quoted jobs alike. Member benefits and pricing are described on the services page.
Cancellations and rescheduling
You can reschedule or cancel by phone, text, or by replying to your confirmation email if you received one. Please give us reasonable notice so we can offer the slot to someone else.
What we help with, and what we'll decline
We serve Dade City, Zephyrhills, surrounding Pasco County, Florida, and help with common consumer technology. We may decline or stop work that is unsafe, illegal, or outside our expertise, and we'll tell you plainly if so.
Your devices, accounts, and data
You confirm that you own the devices and accounts we work on, or that you're allowed to authorize work on them. We only access what's needed to do the job. Please back up anything important before we begin; we're glad to help you set up backups if you'd like.
Photos and notes
With your okay, we may take photos or notes of your setup so we can do the work and leave you a written recap. We won't publish anything that identifies you or your home without your permission.
Our responsibility and insurance
We carry general liability insurance and take care while working in your home. To the extent the law allows, our responsibility for any single visit is limited to the amount you paid for that visit. We aren't responsible for pre-existing faults, data loss, or issues outside the work we did, which is why we recommend a current backup before any work begins.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute will be handled in the courts serving Pasco County, Florida.
